chateau Moulin à vent

The castle

The mention “Cru Bourgeois” has its origins in the Middle Ages. At this time the bourgeois of the “borough” of Bordeaux acquire the best lands of the region which take the name of “Crus des Bourgeois”, then “Crus Bourgeois”.

This classification is today the guarantor of an aristocracy of the terroirs and a qualitative know-how, become a symbol of luxury and of which Château Moulin à Vent is one of the worthy representatives in AOC Moulis.

Unique in the Médoc, the team is 100% feminine: Queen, the Technical Manager, Florence the Administrative Manager and Pilar Jimenez, Winemaker working for the Château Moulin à Vent with a maternal focus.

The vineyard of our property has more than two centuries of existence, its chartreuse dates from the early nineteenth century and its winery was built in 1873.

Our terroir is a concentrate of the Médoc wine: gravel Garonne and serious Pyrenean rest on a clay-limestone substrate, promoting a long and consistent maturation of Merlots and Cabernets Francs. This arrangement favors the expression of powerful, elegant and racy wines.
